Gaining Substantial Community Support
Join other community organizations actively engaged in providing services that benefit the health of our local citizens such as Sag Harbor Chamber of Commerce, The Sag Harbor Express, Slow Food East End, Clean Apothicaire, GMO Free NY, Holly Durning Acupuncture, East End Farmers Market Association and many more.
The overall purpose is to create a fun and memorable experience where exhibitors, sponsors and attendees alike can share ideas and take away new insights around the concepts of preventive health and sustainable technology.
The world around us is rapidly changing as the Internet fires up the minds of citizens from around the world. Even as the atmosphere of nations gradually heats up due to financial instability and political gridlock, there are viral social movements intercepting problems and quickly applying solutions that many governments are unwilling or unable to address. The year 2013 is demonstrating that we are at a critical crossroads where “we the people” have the greatest technological advantages and information sharing capacity to take matters into our own hands and awaken the healthful master that is in all of us.
Food Riot – VIP Dinner Event | July 27 2013
We are thrilled to be working closely with Slow Food East End, a dynamic chapter of Slow Food USA, which is part of the global grassroots Slow Food organization founded in 1989 to counter the rise of fast food, the disappearance of local food traditions and people’s dwindling interest in the food they eat, where it comes from, and how our food choices affect the rest of the world.
This year’s “Food Riot” is benefiting Slow Food East End through the sale of VIP tickets, a raffle, and a complimentary exhibitor booth at the expo. The Food Riot is a casual dinner party featuring a keynote speaker, live music and lots of great food and drink. The event is reserved for VIP ticket holders and is dedicated to bringing awareness to the local grassroots food movements and sustainable agriculture systems that are changing how people eat.
We are very pleased to welcome keynote speaker Jeffrey M. Smith, international best-selling author and filmmaker, Executive Director of the Institute for Responsible Technology, and leading spokesperson on the health dangers of GMOs. Mr. Smith will give the keynote address Saturday evening and join us again on Sunday for a screening of his documentary film Genetic Roulette: The Gamble of Our Lives.
Celebrate the pleasure of food, linked with a commitment to community and the environment, at a special cocktail party and dinner catered by Chef Todd Jacobs, chef-owner of Fresh Hamptons in Bridgehampton. Reserve your tickets today for this one-of-a-kind evening.
